The iPhone has just entered a new era: that of 5G. This was announced by Tim Cook after the typical introduction of iPhone presentation keynotes, in which the CEO of Apple talks about how popular his smartphone is, how well received it is by users, how easy to use it is and all while protecting our security and privacy.

Apple has also worked with carriers like Verizon in the United States to deliver the best user experience with its first 5G iPhone. This connectivity helps deliver faster speeds, less congestion, and more security and privacy.

5G comes to the four new iPhones announced this October 13. But there is much more: a new and more resistant design, a screen with more resolution and brightness, a chipset more powerful than ever and less environmental impact.

1. New Design

Apple has introduced a new design on the iPhone 12, which now no longer has the curved edges of previous generations. It also features uniform manufacturing and new technologies are used to give it this new look.

Also keeping 5G connectivity in mind, the antennas have now been placed around the aluminum frame. The glass cover is also new, and now they have called it Ceramic Shield. Apple says it is 4 times stronger than before.

The 6.1 ”iPhone 12 is thinner, smaller and lighter than the iPhone 11, so you can also save on the impact it has on the environment. It is available in five different colors: black, white, red, green and navy blue.

2. Display

Apple has also introduced the new Super Retina XDR display, which should offer greater pixel precision than iPhone 11, more brightness, an improved night mode, more resolution, increased dynamic range and much more.

3. 5G

The new compatibility with 5G telephony is the main novelty of the new generation of iPhone. It is true that it goes a little later, but Apple excuses itself by assuring that it is the smartphone with the most 5G bands.

In addition, the company has designed a system that is not only faster, but also smarter. That means that if the iPhone detects that you do not need 5G, it switches to LTE to save battery life, and returns to 5G when it thinks it is necessary.

The company has worked with local operators to bring the 5G experience to as many regions as possible. Among them we find Vodafone, which already operates in Spain under the latest generation of mobile telephony.

4. A14 Bionic Chip

How could it be otherwise, Apple has also presented the new chipset as the fastest in a smartphone. The A14 Bionic is the first to use 5nm processing technology. Its 11,8000 transistors achieve better performance and also lower latency in gaming.

In fact, the company has also taken the opportunity to announce that for the first time in history the game of League of Legends: Wild Rift will be available for iPhone. This has been possible thanks to the new chip and the incorporation of 5G.

5. Cameras

One of the most anticipated moments of the event has been when Apple has explained the new cameras of the iPhone 12, which are announced more powerful than those of the previous generation. They should improve low light photos and also night mode (on all lenses).

The iPhone 12 has a new dual rear camera system, with a 12 MP (f / 2.4, 120º) ultra wide angle lens and a 12 MP (f / 1.6, OIS) wide angle lens. The cameras on the Pro models are also unsurprisingly better.

6. MagSafe

Another outstanding novelty of the presentation has been MagSafe. Apple has improved the wireless charging of the iPhone and also the experience we have with it through accessories such as cases or chargers.

That is why, with MagSafe, the company has designed a system of magnets that allows both the cases and the charging bases to better fit the iPhone. Apple launches a new collection of cases and chargers both designed by them and by Belkin.

7. Responsible for the environment

Apple's offices and stores already operate 100% with renewable energy and the company has a goal that all its operations have zero impact on the environment within 10 years, in 2030.

One of the steps to achieve this is, as you did with the Apple Watch, remove the power adapter from the iPhone 12 box. Also, in this case the Lightning EarPods will not be included. This will also make the box smaller and, therefore, have less environmental impact.

8. iPhone 12 mini

he leaks in recent weeks had already announced it but Apple has released a new iPhone: the iPhone mini. Best of all, it has all the features and specifications of the iPhone 12, but in a more compact format.

9. Price and availability

The iPhone 12 will have a minimum price of € 909 for the 64 GB model, but it can also be purchased with 128 GB and 256 GB of storage. On the other hand, the iPhone 12 mini has a minimum price of € 809 in the same capacities.

Both one and the other can be purchased in advance as of this Friday, October 16 from 2:00 p.m. (Spanish time). The new iPhones won't hit stores or start shipping until a week later, on October 23.
